A little about me...
I'm Adriana and I'm so glad that you're here!
I'm a mom of 3, special education teacher, wife, blogger, photographer, social media manager, and an overall I-can-do-that kinda person.
I've lived all over the country (and even abroad for a little while). I primarily split my childhood between California and Indiana. After a few years in the Midwest, I found myself in Brooklyn. Whew!
Basically. I went from cornfields to living above a bodega overnight! My years in Brooklyn taught me many things, but the biggest take-away was a true understanding that I can absolutely do anything that I set my mind to! Nothing drives that message home faster than being lost in Times Square, not knowing the subway system, and having to find your way back to Brooklyn – with no money. Yeah, that happened.
Eventually, we started a family, needed some space, and traded in our outrageous Brooklyn rent for outrageous Long Island taxes. Hey, what can ya do? Long Island has been my home for many years, and it has been so good to me! I always thought I'd move back to California one day, but it turned out that this West Coast girl fell hard for the East Coast life. I love New York!
I was a stay-at-home mom for many years, and, during that time, I decided to go after my college education. Once my middle child was in school, I went all in and got a double Masters in Education and Special Education. So much of parenting and education go hand-in-hand. That’s good and bad.
Good because I feel so prepared for a variety of situations at home, and bad because it kinda always feels like I never leave work. Lucky for me, I’m pretty much obsessed with my job! I wake up every single day excited to go to work. Not everyone can say that!
Did I mention that I also run a food page on Instagram? Variety is the spice of life, right? That page that started out as just something I did for fun, slowly developed into a small business. I work with businesses every day in some way or another. It’s so fun and rewarding – in a way that’s so different from my day job!
You’ll find that I pull from all of these areas to create content for this page. That seems like a lot, huh? I like to see it as a full life. Not one of us has only one side to them!
Thanks for getting to know me a little and I hope you’ll reach out if you have any questions, need some advice, or just want to share something you think I might like.
