Week 7 - Room 20 Online

DOWNLOAD & PRINT: Worksheets

you'll need to print 4 copies of page 4

Monday:

  • READ: Judy Moody Saves the World by Megan McDonald | pages 13-37

  • Talk about vocabulary words and apply them to the story

  • Use Words in Context worksheet to talk about each word, and have your child give personal connections with the words.  Ex. "Sometimes I imagine what it would be like to fly."

Tuesday:

  • READ: Judy Moody Saves the World by Megan McDonald | pages 13-37

  • Review flashcards (the ones with just the word and definition), and have your child fill in the correct information on the Word Smart worksheets.

Wednesday:

  • Review Assessment by going over each question.  Don't ask questions in order and make sure that there's no peeking!  Only parents should see this page right now - we don't want our smart kids memorizing the answer order.

  • Review flashcards.

  • Go to Raz-Kids, Kids Login, and have your child complete the weekly assignment under Vocabulary. The login information was previously emailed to you. Let me know if you need that again. :)

Due Date: By the end of this week!

Thursday:

  • REVIEW: Judy Moody Saves the World by Megan McDonald | pages 13-37

  • Discuss the story and vocabulary words in context

  • Complete Analogies and Cloze Sentences worksheets

Friday:

  • Assessment worksheet

  • Review previous and current incorrect words. Keep mastered words in one pile, and words that need to be reviewed in a separate pile.

  • Access the Go Math! Student Workbook HERE

  • This week's assignment: pages 108-110

  • Check for the page number at the bottom of each page before printing.

  • Spend 35 minutes this week on HappyNumbers. Use the login information that was emailed to you. Let me know if you need me to resend it. :)

  • Shoe Tying Without Tears: I know that the quality of this video is low and there's some movement (the mom has her young daughter recording), but this method is such a nice and EASY change from the complicated way we ask kids to tie their shoes. If you want to get right into it, you can skip to 1 min and 40 sec into the video.

If your child is having a tough time with shoe tying, give this method a try!

  • Complete at least 2 books per week on Raz-Kids under Level Up. Have your child complete all green squares under each book from left to right. Use the login information that was emailed to you. Let me know if you need me to resend it. :)

  • Don't forget that you can head over to Epic! to find a book to read for fun! 15 minutes a day is a good place to start.

Review past spelling words that have been sent home on index cards as Mastered Spelling Words.

  • Practice words for the week to get ready for the end-of-week spelling test on Zoom!

  • Use the worksheets that were emailed home or try to:

  1. Write each word in alphabetical order.

  2. Write each word 3 times each.

  3. Type or write each word in a sentence.

This kind of step-by-step drawing is something that we do in class pretty often. The students are actually really good at following these directions, and it offers such good practice with sequencing. Give it a try HERE.

That's it for this week!

For those of you who know someone who may need a daily schedule for a student in an ABA classroom, feel free to share the resource HERE.

Tell my kids I say hi and that I miss them!

You're doing an amazing job.
